Etage, set of tables at different heights

I've been circling in my head the design of these tables and I just don't understand them well, I would like to know your opinion, to combine several tables in an arrangement like that of Etage, which is what the model is called, the truth is that it seems somewhat absurd, you can say that it is monkey, but I don't know if enough to compensate to spend three times as much material as table normal, with the corresponding increase in its price.

To level functional I don't see any advantage, there is so little height difference between a surface and another that little more we can place than a couple of magazines and even for that I find it very comfortable, being so narrow the space is difficult to place things, see them and take them, so I think it is more aesthetic than anything else, Or maybe the idea is to hide under the TV remote so no one can find it ... it could be.

Posts to exaggerate, the firm Offecct creator of the design, shows several examples some of them with more than half a dozen tables or surfaces of them at various levels, both horizontally and vertically, I only imagine it in a huge room, maybe at the reception of some very large hotel it could have a place, but I still don't see the logic.

Can you imagine how complicated it must be for clean? The surfaces are so stuck that it seems that there is almost no arm between them, it will be necessary to stretch the duster to be able to reach the center of the lower ones ... Either I am too practical, or today I have little optimistic day, but although at first they look beautiful, these tables do not just convince me at all, to see if someone brings me something positive about them so that I can see the utility.

The designer intended to create a modular sofa that could be easily moved from the sofa to the bed function and that was versatile.

Build, a bookshelf that is like a great puzzle

You know that I am very much in favor of modular furniture, they seem very practical because they adapt to the available space and the needs of people at all times. If we change our house we can easily relocate them and we can even move them from the room without problems inside the same house.
