The arrive Christmas holidays and a lot of free time ahead. Time to spend with family, friends, time to do crafts or all those things that we usually can't. One of them to do both alone and with children is to see the Art exhibitions offered by the different galleries, museums and centers.
For example, the Roca Barcelona Gallery opens on December 21 the exhibition 'Vinyes: Morphology and syntax in space', by Ramón Vinyes (Girona, 1948). An exhibition that, if you are or are from Barcelona you should not miss it, as it is emerging as one of the most interesting of the Spanish art panorama for this Christmas
A sample curated by the Professor of Art History Cosme de Barañano and composed of ten sculptures of steel, copper, aluminum and wood that reflect the constant willingness to explore the perspective and the relationship between solid and empty by Ramon Vinyes.
Also, surrounding the exhibition of these pieces, some drawings of the artist are presented: ink drawings with nib, made between 1965 and 1972; Kinetic drawings (from the series Candles of Thought) vectorized to the size 250 x 250 cms (years 2003-2007), and drawings of AutoCAD developments (somehow mechanized drawings, as technical drawings intended to make the sculptures).
From geometry domain, the artist's pieces are designed to not have a fixed position. In this way, the viewer can approach each work from multiple points of view.
The artist Ramón Vinyes himself explains that he understands his sculpture as:
Ingrávida, that is, thought to be observed from the six directions of space. My pieces can be placed in the desired position. If someone wanted to suspend one of the sculptures in the air, they could also observe it from below.
Cosme de Barañano defines the exhibition as “an exhibition of few pieces but each one with his voice, with his personality, and all talking intimately with each other, as the Roca Barcelona Gallery, far from the orchestration of the exhibition of a museum ”.
The Roca Barcelona Gallery renews, with the organization of the exhibition 'Vinyes: Morphology and syntax in space', his commitment to bring the work of innovative artists, architects and designers and highlights of the national and international scene.
