There are moments in life when you would like to abandon your life as an inveterate urbanite and begin a new stage in a small mountain town. And something like that is what I felt when I saw the spectacular restoration that has conducted the study Dom Architecture in this house located in the Cerdanya.
The house is located in an idyllic place, surrounded by meadows and fields, and really, more than a house, it is a set of old buildings such as a haystack, a stable, a warehouse or a small house that the owner wanted to transform to turn them into your own home and in several pavilions for guests.
Based on this premise, Dom Arquitectura's team rightly poses maintain existing stone constructions, rehabilitating its facades and roofs, and proceeding to redistribute the interior spaces to adapt them to the new uses that the owners wanted to give them.
Inside, try to combine tradition and comfort, conserving stone walls, mixing them with others that are clad in wood using supporting iron elements, and also combining wooden pavement with hydraulic tiles as a separation in the space that share the living area with the kitchen.
Wide spaces that respect original elements such as wooden beams, but without sacrificing comfort, with modern furniture and some decorative elements hanging on the walls to make reference to the agricultural past of this house in which we would not mind spending a few days to disconnect from the world, right?
