They have a French name, are inspired by the American coast and are Dutch, Riviera Maison It has everything to succeed in the world of outdoor decoration. I recognize that this firm caught my attention before meeting its distributor in Spain, Maite Guerra from Home Design International, in a catalog of The English Court.
Later when I met Maite and her partner at El Patio de las Letras of the Vincci Hotel in Decor Acción 2013 and they were telling me all the international decoration firms that they had in Spain, I remembered this Riviera Maison. Now they present us their collection for the summer of 2015 and return with inspiration in the famous American Hamptons, one of the most desired destinations across the pond.
The line of sailor colors: white, blue and red, simple stripes, furniture made of natural materials such as wicker, wood or iron and fresh textiles, like linen and cotton, come back this summer to help pass the high temperatures in the most relaxing way.
The most comfortable pillows are the ones that give the color to neutral tones of sofas and armchairs. Fabric or wood hammocks discolored by the strong sun and sollines of rattan and wicker, indispensable in our holidays are the protagonists of this collection, designed to live outdoors: lunch in the garden and dinner on the terrace.
Wooden lamps and candle holders and natural fiber carpets, together with cutlery and crockery with sailor motifs, starfish, fish, conch shells, designed for a very informal life, but carefully decorated. The long tables of solid wood with decapés and reclaimed wood and letters.
The letters in cushions, bedspreads, pictures and utensils. We already know that messages are in fashion. Famous phrases or reminders perfect for that touch of informality that the firm wants to give to its summer collection.
We return to contrasts of black and white, blue and earth and bare wood with white-painted legs (a classic from the Hamptons).
